A bounty is usually offered when there is a search for someone. If you give us information about the whereabouts of so, so and so, we will give you $25,000. The bounty is designed to create a breach of loyalty within the inner circle of the sought. This was the method used in the capture of Saddam Hussein. Another method used to strain loyalty is torture. This in some measure was used to capture Osama Bin Laden. These methods are used to tap into the individualism, the selfishness of humans and cause them to give up any loyalty, even to family members for personal gain. These methods have been very effective since the dawn of time.

When There is No Loyalty

When insecure leaders come to power, they eliminate anyone deemed loyal to the predecessor. This is done by jailing, exiling or even murder. The rationale is that the leader is not safe until all loyalty is directed to him/ her.  This does not just apply to the macro world but to the micro as well – take for instance, the home. If the Husband is not loyal to His family. He creates a vacuum that consequently destroys the family. A reality arises where children grow up without their biological parents, adults become unwilling to trust again due to past hurt. Financial and spiritual hardship become the order of the day. Also, if the wife is not loyal – the husband can hardly reach his potential as he will experience set back upon set back – going in circles and loosing everything that took years to build.

Loyalty Is Important

If God as a leader, is not loyal to you, His child, then you are like a sheep without a Shepard. Wandering astray, chasing shadows, and never knowing your way back home – just like a dog who leaves it’s home chasing a car and is unable to trace it’s way back. Also, if you are not loyal to God, then you are of all men, most miserable. Why? Because He won’t stand for you when it matters most. Thankfully, Jesus Christ is loyal to you. Loyalty is important. Loyalty is the womb in which safety is incubated, progress is made and stability is established. This is a question worth asking: Are you loyal to your Spouse, Family, Country, Leader? More importantly, are you loyal to your God?

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up – Daniel 3:17-18
